Income Survey
Have you received an income survey in the mail from the City of Malta? Here’s what you need to know:
What is a CDBG grant?
The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program is a national effort that allocates funding directly to the State of Idaho, where it is administered by the Idaho Department of Commerce. CDBG grant funds can assist cities and counties with developing and constructing public infrastructure projects.
Why is the City of Malta trying to apply for CDBG funding?
The City of Malta is sponsoring the CDBG grant application on behalf of the Raft River Fire Protection District for the construction of a new firehouse to shelter the Fire District’s fire truck and equipment. While the Fire District’s service boundary expands beyond the City of Malta, the firehouse location will be within the city.
Why am I being asked for my income?
In order to qualify for CDBG grant funds, a city or county must indicate a level of need. The City of Malta will use the confidential income survey results to determine whether the overall percentage is enough to qualify for CDBG grant funding.
I got a survey, now what?
