FUNERAL HELD FOR MATHIAS COWLEY UDY

Services for Mathias C. Udy, prominent Malta man were held Mon. At 1 o’clock at the Malta L.D.S. Church with Bishop S.H. Barlow officiating.

Mrs. Ross Sanders played the prelude and postlude music on the organ. Invocation was given by Elihu Beecher.

Bernice Gunnell, Carolyn Thompson and Ramona Shaw sang “O Divine Redeemer” and Bishop S.H. Barlow gave the obituary. Nathan Clark and Pres. E.S. Miller were speakers. Mrs. Barbara Udy sang “In the Garden.” Chester Loveland and Orson Sanders were speakers. Mrs. Barbara Udy rendered a solo “O Dry Those Tears.” Bp. Fred E. Ottley gave a talk. A trio sang “The Lord’s Prayer” Benediction was by Fred H. Ottley.

Burial was at the Malta Cemetery under the direction of Payne Mortuary. Ross Sanders giving the dedicatory prayer. Family prayer was given by Delbert Wilcox at the home.

Casket attendants were John Nye, Bert Hutchison, Bob Wake, Frank Lee, J. Henry Thompson, John A. Elison. Flowers were under the direction of the Relief Society. Flower girls were Jerry, Kay, Caroline and Maxine Udy, Maxine, Gwen Ottley, Ann and Beverly Udy, Mrs. Bernice Chandler, Mrs. Clara Udy, Mrs. Charlie Sears and Mrs. Gladys Hill.
