Mandy Lee Slagel Beecher

BURLEY — Mandy Lee Slagel Beecher died Thursday, April 5, 2012, from injuries received in an auto accident. A lifelong resident of Burley, she was 33-years-old.

Mandy was born June 1, 1978, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Kelly Briggs Slagel and Andrew Slagel. She attended schools and completed her education in Burley. She was always busy with friends and activities, and was a member of the marching band flag team.

Mandy married Donald Beecher. They have two sons, Zachary and Christian. They were later divorced. Mandy was blessed with a third son, Dakota, to complete her family.

Spending time with her boys, family and friends kept her busy. She also enjoyed bowling, crafts, especially drawing, and was, of course, world class at texting. Mandy could never walk away from a stray animal. She rescued and raised many.

She is survived by her three sons, Zachary, Christian and Dakota, all of Heyburn; her friend, Robert Martinez of Jerome; her parents, Dean and Kelly Rose of Heyburn, and Andrew and Norma Slagel of Nevada; grandparents, Norma Rose and Ray Slagel; and her dogs, Baby and Princess. Other family members include brothers and sisters, Gerrad, Bryan and Sylvia Rose of Spokane, Wash., Dustin and Samantha Slagel of Twin Falls, Cody and Heather Rose of Burley, and Brandi Johnson of Mountain Home; nieces and nephews, Koby, Kelsey, Korbin, Brayden, Stetson, Addyson, Jesse, Salina, Trenton, Austin, Colton and Zander.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, MarJean and Wallace Briggs, Merlin Rose, and Bonnie Slagel; and her loving pet, Skittles.

Mandy had many struggles in her too short life, but always found joy in living. Her generous heart sometimes got her in trouble but she was always open and giving. She had many friends that she cared deeply about and she will be missed.

Mom, we love you the same.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, at the Heyburn LDS 1st and 2nd Ward Church, 530 Villa Drive in Heyburn. Burial will be in the Valley Vu Cemetery in Malta.
