Lucile Welch

SANTA ANA, Calif. – Lucile Welch, 92, Santa Ana, Calif., a former Malta resident, died Monday, Oct. 20, 1997, at Hospice Family Care Center in Santa Ana.

She was born August 27, 1905, in Elba, the daughter of Thomas and Maime Gardner Lloyd.  She attended schools in Bridge.

She married Arthur Francis Welch on Dec. 18, 1928, in Boise.  Following their marriage, they moved to Elko, Nevada, where they lived for 20 years.  They moved to Santa Ana 25 years ago, and she lived there until her death.  She was a loving mother and will be missed by all.

Survivors include three sons, James F. Welch of Elko, Allen L. Welch of Fountain Valley, Calif., and Vergil L. Welch of Santa Ana; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Oct. 15, 1982, and an infant daughter, Colleen Barbara Welch.

The funeral was held Saturday, Oct. 25, at the Malta LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop George Darrington officiating.  Burial in Valley Vu Cemetery, Malta, was directed by Payne Mortuary of Burley.[/x_accordion_item]
