Joyce Booth Hutchison, 85, of Heyburn, and formerly of Malta, passed away Friday, January 29, 2016, at her home in Heyburn.

Joyce was born January 10, 1931, in Bridge, Idaho, the daughter of Marlin Henderson Booth and Lilly LaVaughn Jones, joining her older brother, Collin. She attended the one-room school in Bridge, where she completed the eighth grade, and then attended high school in Malta, where she graduated with the class of 1948. She married Jay Dee Hutchison Sept. 10, 1948, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

They rented and later purchased the old Keogh Ranch from Vance Smith in 1961. They both worked very hard on the farm and on establishing a dairy in addition to the farm they had purchased.

Aside from being a loving mother, wife, and hard-working farmer, Joyce was also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Joyce is survived by her daughters, Wendy (Redge) Peterson of Burley, and Diane Robinson (Bill Davidson) of Heyburn; her siblings, Boyd (Dolores) Booth of Nephi, Utah, and Connie (Gary) Darrington of Idaho Falls; sister-in-law, Norma Teeter of Heyburn; nine grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Dee; her parents, Marlin and LaVaughn Booth; and her brother, Collin.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at the Malta LDS Church with Bishop Richard Hall officiating. Burial will be in the Valley Vu Cemetery.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Special appreciation is given to Joyce’s care-givers, who include her daughter, Diane, and the nurses from Minidoka Home Health, especially Suzanne, for their kind and compassionate care.
