BISHOP SMITH OF MALTA IS CALLED BY DEATH

Funeral services for Bishop John O. Smith of Malta LDS Church died Monday afternoon at his home following a brief illness. Will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at the Malta LDS Church. One of his counselors will officiate. The body will be taken to his home at 9:30 a.m. where it may be viewed until the time of services. Burial will be in the Malta Cemetery under the direction of Payne Mortuary.

Bishop Smith was born in Paradise, Utah in 1884, the son of Thomas R. And Emma Obray Smith. He has been a resident of Malta for a number of years.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Flossie Parish Smith and the following sons and daughters: Inez Barlow, Malta. Mrs. Gladys Neddo, Searchlight, Nev. Vance F. Smith, Pullman Washington. Verl Smith, Corvallis, Oregon. John F. Smith, Puyallup, Wash. Dale Smith, Malta.
