This Sweet Cream Buttermilk is a dried milk powder which has been manufactured from sweet cream. Because of its unique flavor, it is a favorite ingredient for prepared mixes, frozen desserts, and baked goods.

Grade A Sweet Cream Buttermilk is the result of water removal from liquid buttermilk derived from the manufacture of sweet cream butter which no preservative, alkali, neutralizing agents or other chemicals have been added.  Buttermilk is spray dried from liquid state at a temperature of 161 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 seconds.  Sweet Cream Buttermilk has a white to creamy color, free of brown or yellow color, which is typical of overheated products.

To make by using the more convenient measuring cup method:


2/3 cup 1 quart

5 1/3 Tbsp. 1 pint

2 2/3 Tbsp. 1 cup

Stir while adding cold water. Due to settling of the dry milk results may vary slightly.

STORAGE: Product should be stored in a dry, cool, clean location free of odors with a temperature below 80 degrees F and relative humidity below 65%. Although product stored for one year is usually found to be satisfactory, the manufacturer suggests that it not be stored for more than six months to assure fresh tasting product. An airtight container is recommended for long term storage.


It is suggested to pour the powder into water (approximately half the volume desired) stirring continuously as the additional water is added. Continue to stir until the powder is in solution. A blender may be used for mixing. Agitate for about 30 seconds. For exact reconstituting to the 10% solids level mix by weight. This may be accomplished by mixing one part of powder (by weight) with nine parts of water (by weight). To make one quart: Place 3.2 oz. (by weight) into a measure-marked container. Stir while adding cold water.
