MARY C. CONDIT PASSES SUNDAY

Cassia Pioneer summoned at home of daughter in Heyburn.

Aged 78 years, widow of the late Leonard M. Condit, formerly of Malta, passes away Sunday from complications of heart disease at the home of her daughter Mrs. J.A. Hand in Heyburn.

The deceased was born Aug 23, 1854 in Bandena, Texas. Her mother died when she was only 3 years old and she went to live with an Uncle. Five years later they moved to western Iowa. She was married Dec. 31, 1869 to Leonard M. Condit at Little Sioux, Iowa, where they resided until May of 1881 when they started for Washington Territory. They arrived in Cassia County in autumn of 1882 and made their home at Malta, where they operated a Mercantile Store until Mr. Condit’s death in 1912. Since that time, Mrs. Condit has lived in Iowa, Oregon, Calif. And with her daughter in Heyburn where death insued.

She is survived by 5 sons, Leon A. Condit, Arizona, H.M. Condit, Vernonia, Oregon, J.S. Condit, Van Nuys, Calif., Authur Condit, Rupert and Fred L. Condit, Lamoni, Iowa and 2 daughters, Mrs. J.A. Handy of Heyburn and Mrs. Ed Haas of Stockton, Calif.

Interment will be in the Malta Cemetery, beside her late husband’s grave.
