MALTA YOUTH RIDES BIKE INTO TRAILER, KILLED

William Kay Hill, 13, son of Walter and Gladys Gierisch Hill, Malta was killed last Monday evening when he rode his bike into a long pole trailer being hauled by an R.E.A. truck. The accident occurred at 7:30 p.m. on U.S. Highway 30 near Sunset Motel. The youth apparently did not notice the long trailer unit as he waited for the truck to pass and rode into it. Driver of the truck, Samuel N. Smith 24, Malta, a line foreman.

The youth was born in Burley 31, Dec 1938. When he was 2 the family moved to Malta. He was active in school athletics and served as President of the Deacons Quorum of the LDS Church in Malta.

He is survived by his parents, 4 brothers and sister, Walter Jack and Donald Ralph, Jeaneen and Annette Hill. Grandparents, Mrs. and Mrs. William Gierisch and Mr. and Mrs. John H. Hill all of Burley.

Funeral Services were set for today, Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Malta LDS Church with Bishop Thompson officiating. Payne Mortuary will direct burial in the Malta Cemetery.
