JOHN ALVIN HEPWORTH
JEROME-John Alvin Hepworth, 89, Jerome, died Thursday at St. Benedict’s Long Term Care Unit.
Born Dec. 11, 1895, in Springdale, Utah, he moved at the age of one to Elba where he attended school. He married Martha “Mattie” Lloyd on June 15, 1920 in Burley, and they moved to a farm at Jerome in 1935. She died in 1959.
He served in the Army during World War I and was an expert rifleman. He was a member of the LDS Church.
Among survivors is a daughter Aleen Briggs of Burley.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Jerome 2nd Ward LDS Chapel with Bishop Robert Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Jerome Cemetery.
Friends may call at Hove-Robertson Funeral Chapel in Jerome Monday from 3-8 p.m. and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
